Hi there!

We’re Thom, Dave, and Caroline, and we deeply appreciate the time you’re taking to get to know us. We (Thom and Dave) enjoy an extremely committed marriage and have been together for 18 years. We were blessed with our daughter Caroline in 2016 and have been overwhelmed with happiness ever since. Our life revolves around Caroline, but we want to offer every opportunity we can to another child. We look forward to the special bond Caroline and a sibling would share through adoption.

While adoption is a long and often difficult road, we believe that there is room in our hearts and home for our family to grow. We are certain our family is ready to share our lives with another child - one that we will love endlessly and wholeheartedly and offer them every opportunity we possibly can.

Financial Support

Expectant mothers who choose to make an adoption plan may qualify for some level of financial assistance during their pregnancy. However, each person's situation and specific needs are different. Your adoption social worker can help you determine what level of assistance you qualify for and deserve. Many expectant mothers qualify for financial assistance to cover basic pregnancy and living expenses, including but not limited to - transportation reimbursement, utility assistance for phone, water, and electricity/gas, maternity clothing and supplements, etc.

FAQ’s about placing a baby for Adoption

I'm considering giving my baby up for adoption. How much does that cost?

It won't cost you anything. If you choose to place your baby for adoption, all of your medical and legal fees will be covered and you may be eligible for financial assistance with other pregnancy-related expenses.

I'm experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and don't know who the birth father is. Can I still place my baby for adoption?

Yes. Even if you don’t know the identity of the birth father, you can still choose to make an adoption plan. However, every adoption situation is different. The adoption social worker you’re assigned to will get to know you and your story first, and then guide you through the process accordingly.

When is the right time to talk with an adoption professional?

You can make an adoption plan at any point in your pregnancy, even after the baby has been born. But, it's important to start the process as early in your pregnancy as possible. Connecting with those resources will allow you to gain access to important medical services, including prenatal care, to help ensure a healthy pregnancy.

When I create an adoption plan, will I get to choose who is in the room with me during delivery?

One aspect of your adoption plan is the "Hospital Plan" an outline of how you'd like your hospital stay and delivery to go. You can craft this on your own or with the help of your adoption social worker. But everything is up to you. You’ll be able to choose who comes to the hospital with you, who is in the room with you during delivery, and how much time you’d like to spend with the baby before signing the final papers.

How much contact will I have with the adoptive family after I place my baby with them?

As part of your adoption plan, you'll determine whether or not you’d like to have an open or closed adoption or something in between. Open adoptions may include phone calls, messaging (via social media, email, or text), and/or periodic visits each year. Closed adoptions may include no contact at all or annual updates provided to the birth parent(s) by the adoptive family. Each post-adoption relationship is different and can vary based on what an expectant mother chooses in her adoption plan.

"Family of Three" - An Adoption Story

06/27/2021

Last Christmas, a dear friend of ours - a talented author and illustrator - surprised us with a book they wrote for our daughter Caroline called "Family of Three". The book is about family being defined by love, and while it is about our family in particular, we thought it would be nice to share with the birth mothers and adoptive parents in this community who understand so well the power adoption holds and what a precious gift it is to parents who have adopted children in their family or the hopeful parents who are waiting so patiently for that phone call they've been dreaming of. One thing we love about the book is that it gives our daughter an idea of how she came into our lives while acknowledging the differences that make our family unique and special. Our greatest hope is that we will be able to request a sequel in the near future, "Family of Four", that Caroline and a sibling will be able to share and cherish, just as much as we will cherish them.  To birth mothers who have placed a child or expectant mothers who are considering adoption, we hope this little book can...

Father's Day Weekend "Staycation"

06/22/2021

This past weekend we took a weekend trip to a resort just down the road to celebrate Father's Day with Caroline. Father's Day is a time for us to celebrate Caroline and the cherished gift that she inherently gives just by being our daughter. Father's Day is now and will forever be the most special holiday for us thanks to the immeasurable trust a birthmother placed in us in loving, raising, and cherishing this beautiful angel from heaven. There are no words to adequately describe just how grateful we are for the opportunity to be dads. We are so excited to be expanding our family and to celebrate the gift of another little girl or boy on this special day and every day thereafter.

Caroline's First Ballet Recital

06/17/2021

In January, Caroline decided she wanted to be a ballerina so we figured the best place to start was enrolling her in a local ballet school. Every Monday evening since then, she and her ballet peers have been working hard on their dance numbers for the annual recital that was held over the weekend.  She has made so many friends and we were nearly brought to tears as she took the stage for the very first time. She was such a natural and we are so incredibly proud of our little girl. She'll have plenty of dance moves to teach a sibling that we know she can't wait to share.

4th of July Weekend

07/08/2021

Happy 4th of July everyone! We hope you had a safe and fun weekend.  We spent the 4th relaxing by the pool before doing fireworks in the front lawn. We then went on a quick, two day trip to stay at our favorite resort.
